After a brief briefing on the itinerary and safety precautions, you will hoist anchor and set sail for Hana Iti, a secluded bay with a white sandy beach and a clear blue lagoon. After a breakfast of tropical fruits and freshly baked bread, set sail for Raiatea, a sailing trip of about three to four hours. Along the way you can fish or just enjoy the view of the vast lagoon. Upon arrival, you will sail into Faaroa Bay and transfer to a dinghy for a trip down the Faaroa River, the only navigable river in French Polynesia. Along the banks grow tropical plants such as the yellow-flowered purau, which drop their petals into the water at sunset. You dine and spend the night on board, anchored in a quiet bay.
Day 5: Taputapuatea
After breakfast, sail towards Opoa Bay, where you will visit the Taputapuatea Marae, one of the most important archaeological sites in the South Pacific. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered the spiritual center of Polynesian culture and was for centuries a meeting place for sailors from the region. After lunch on board, set sail for the idyllic motu Nao Nao, where you can snorkel in the shallow reef, kayak along the shore or stand-up paddleboard in the calm lagoon. You spend the night at anchor off this remote islet.
Day 6: Taha'a
After breakfast, sail to Apu Bay on Taha'a, where you will visit a traditional pearl farm. Here you will learn how the famous black pearls are grown and have the opportunity to purchase a unique piece of jewelry directly from the producer. After lunch on board, set sail for motu Mahaea, a small coral island with wide sandy beaches. The afternoon is dedicated to relaxation: swim in the crystal clear waters, snorkel among colorful fish or enjoy a cocktail on the deck of the catamaran.
Day 7: Taha'a - Bora Bora
In the morning you will visit one of the vanilla plantations on Taha'a, where you will see how this precious spice is grown and processed. You then sail to motu Tau Tau, known for its spectacular coral garden. Here you snorkel in the clear water among schools of tropical fish and vibrant coral. After lunch on board, the crossing to Bora Bora begins, a sailing trip of about three to four hours. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to have optional dinner at the famous Bloody Mary's or the exclusive Bora Bora Yacht Club.
Day 8: Bora Bora
After a restful night, the day begins with a leisurely sail along the "route des motus," a chain of small islands surrounding Bora Bora's lagoon. You can optionally visit the lagoonarium, a natural aquarium where you swim with exotic fish and turtles. Prefer some relaxation? Then you can opt for a traditional Tahitian massage at the spa of the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa. In the afternoon, a unique experience awaits: swimming with stingrays, an encounter you won't soon forget.
