Profile
Looking for sun, sea and a bit of city? This is a great fit. Everything is close and the pace stays relaxed.
Day 1: Arrival flight and La Colline du Château
After checking into your hotel, it's time to explore the city. Start with a visit to La Colline du Château, located between the old town and the port, where you'll get the very best views of Nice. Currently, there is no castle left, only the remains of the cathedral and a medieval fortress. The rest was transformed into a park with a spectacular waterfall that is beautifully lit up at night. In this green setting, you feel like the city is hours away. You reach the top via 213 steps or an art-deco lift that takes you three-quarters of the way up.
Continue your day with a visit to the hip Quartier du Port district, the place to be with plenty of great coffee and lunch addresses. You can drink the best coffee between Place Garibaldi, Place du Pin and the port quays with hip streets like Rue Bonaparte and Rue Cassini.
Day 2: City tour and Musée Marc Chagall
The second day starts with a tour of the old town, also known as 'le Vieux'. Together with a guide, you will experience the real medieval village atmosphere. In the narrow streets, you will discover an explosion of colours, smells, artists and boutiques. Make sure to browse the flower market at the Cours Saleya. In the afternoon, dive into the world of artist Marc Chagall. At the museum, you will discover his works such as stained-glass windows, paintings, sculptures, ceramics and giant frescoes. The collection consists of nearly 1,000 works testifying to the wide variety of this artist's artistic talents.
Day 3: Gourmet tour and free afternoon
Nice is a real paradise for foodies, so a gourmet tour is definitely a must. While strolling through the old town, you will get hungry from the different smells throughout the streets. Here you will find all kinds of artisanal food shops, pasta and biscuit factories... Your taste buds will not be disappointed. In the afternoon, shopaholics can shop in Nice's numerous boutiques. Another option is a bike ride along the Promenade des Anglais. Take your bike and ride for 7 km along the wide promenade with its famous blue chairs and works of art. If you like, continue on the bike path past the picturesque coastal town of Saint-Laurent-du-Var or modern Cagnes-sur-Mer.
Day 4: Going home
Enjoy your last breakfast at the hotel and return home afterwards full of wonderful memories.
