Day 1: Arrival.
Upon arrival at Stockholm's Arlanda Airport, you will meet your local guide and driver and transfer to your hotel in the city center. After checking into your hotel, enjoy a free evening.
Day 2: Stockholm
You start the day with a city tour of the iconic City Hall, the quaint old town of Gamla Stan and stop at a charming café for a traditional Swedish fika. Then drive to Djurgården, a green island in the heart of Stockholm. Here you will visit the Vasa Museum. This is Scandinavia's most visited museum because of its maritime history and home to the Vasa warship, the largest and most ambitious ship ever built in Sweden. Later you will visit Drottningholm Palace, located by the sea and surrounded by beautiful baroque gardens.
Day 3: Birka
Today your guide will take you to Birka, Sweden's oldest town. It was the important trading post of the Vikings and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will get here by boat and the guide will tell you all about the Viking era. There is also a museum that gives a glimpse into life at the time of the Vikings. You will also have the opportunity to ride in a Viking boat, try on clothes and participate in some Viking activities.
Day 4: Return home
