Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
When you arrive by plane in Cairo, your private driver will take you to the hotel. You will stay at Hotel Four Seasons Nile Plaza, a luxurious hotel on the banks of the Nile. If you prefer to stay in another location, we can of course arrange that for you as well.
Day 2: Cairo
This morning explore the plateau of Giza, home of the legendary pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus. Stand face to face with these 4,500-year-old monuments and enter the tombs to discover their hidden secrets. The Sphinx, the iconic creature with a human head and lion's body, also leaves a lasting impression. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum. Here you will admire an impressive collection, including the unique objects from Tutankhamun's tomb, such as his world-famous golden mask.
Day 3: Cairo
After breakfast, visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Combining historical artifacts with interactive displays, this modern museum provides a fascinating insight into Egypt's rich history and its influence on the present. In the afternoon, explore the Cairo Citadel, a medieval fortress with stunning views of the city. Within its walls you will discover museums and impressive mosques. Then wander through the lively Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, a maze of narrow streets filled with artisan workshops and stalls selling woodwork, glass, leather goods and perfumes.
Day 4: Cairo - Aswan
Today you'll fly from Cairo to Aswan, where a private driver will take you to the iconic Sofitel Legend Old Cataract. Located on a pink granite cliff on the Nile opposite Elephantine Island, this 19th-century Victorian palace is a historical gem where Agatha Christie once found inspiration. Take the rest of the day off to relax and enjoy this special place.
Day 5: Aswan - Abu Simbel
After a short flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel, admire the iconic temples, carved into the rock under Ramses II and later relocated by UNESCO to protect them from the rising waters of the Aswan Dam. After your visit, fly back to Aswan and embark on 'The Oberoi Zahra' for an exclusive Nile cruise. On board you will enjoy luxury, fine cuisine and personalized service. In the afternoon you will visit the magnificent Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and the impressive Aswan Dam, which supplies Egypt with electricity. The day ends with a welcome cocktail and dinner on board.
Day 6: Kom Ombo - Edfu - Esna
Early morning sail to Kom Ombo and after breakfast visit the unique temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus. With its double entrances, courts and shrines, this temple reflects an ancient conflict between the gods. Stroll through the decorated corridors and view the mummified crocodiles. After lunch on board, The Oberoi Zahra sails to Edfu, where you will explore the imposing Temple of Horus, known for its impressive pylon and reliefs. In the late afternoon, the ship sets sail for Esna, where you have dinner on board in the evening.
Day 7: Luxor
While you slept, The Oberoi Zahra sailed to Luxor, the largest open-air museum in the world. After breakfast, visit the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were buried in secret tombs to protect their treasures. Then you will discover Medinet Habu, the impressive temple of Ramses III, which was once the center of a city with warehouses, workshops and dwellings. Along the way, make a brief stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the huge statues of Amenhotep III. After lunch and a siesta on board, in the afternoon you will visit the Temple of Luxor, which is surprisingly well preserved, and the temple complex of Karnak. Here you will admire the Great Temple of Amun-Ra, with its famous colonnade and the restored Avenue of Sphinxes. Dinner will be served on board.
Day 8-9-10: Hurghada
Time to rest after all that beauty. Your private driver will take you to your beach hotel in Hurgahda for a few days of pure relaxation. We prefer the stylish hotel The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh on the Red Sea. The hotel has its own dive center for both beginners and experienced divers so that the beautiful underwater world of the Red Sea holds no secrets for you. If you prefer to stay in another hotel, we can arrange that for you.
Day 11: Back home
The trip is over. Your private driver will take you to Hurghada airport for your flight home.
