Day 1: Flight to Casablanca
You fly to Casablanca where your private driver is already waiting for you. He will take you to the center of the city, which with its millions of inhabitants, towering flats and gigantic port is the economic heart of the country. What we want to show you is the Hassan II Mosque, the most beautiful and largest mosque in Morocco and one of the only mosques where you can take a look inside as a non-Muslim. A unique opportunity. After a short visit to Casablanca, your driver will take you to Rabat where you will stay two nights in Riad Euphorie, a gem in Rabat's medina.
Day 2: Rabat
After breakfast, your private guide will take you to explore the city. Due to its rich history, the capital of Morocco is an interesting city to visit. You will visit the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a magnificent fortress from the 12th century and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Be surprised by what you will get to sense behind its thick walls. A visit to the impressive but unfinished Hassan Tower - the iconic minaret and the city's most recognizable symbol - should not be missed. Still on the program are the necropolis of Chellah, a Roman ruin surrounded by beautiful gardens and ponds, the Royal Palace and the mausoleum of Mohamed V. You can rest in one of the city's beautiful botanical gardens.
Day 3: Chefchaouen
Today you continue to Chefchaouen, the blue pearl of the Rif mountains and by far the most photographed city in Morocco. On the way you will stop at the waterfalls of Akchour which are part of the beautiful Talassemtane National Park. Here you will make the most beautiful walks and have a nice lunch. In the afternoon, take a walk through the medina, where all the houses are painted blue - an unreal setting for great photos. At dusk walk up to the Spanish mosque, here you will see the most spectacular sunset. You will stay one night at the beautiful Dar Jasmine, an elegant boutique hotel overlooking the medina.
Day 4: Meknes - Fez
After breakfast, depart for Fez, stopping in both Meknes and Volubilis. Walled Mèknes, a Spanish-Moorish-style city, is also called the Versailles of Morocco and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its beautiful medina, impressive Bap Mansour el-Aleuj entrance gate and magnificent palaces. You will also visit Volubilis, the impressive ruins of a Roman city near Meknes. After an earthquake, parts of Meknes were rebuilt with stones from Volubilis, but magnificent mosaics are still well preserved here. Be sure to look up - storks like to nest on the ancient pillars. In Fez, stay at the beautiful Palais Amani, a luxurious hotel within the city walls of Fez's medina.
Day 5: Fez
Fez is the oldest royal city in Morocco. Fez's medina is the largest in the world and looks like a fairy tale. There's something beautiful behind every corner and you can wander the colorful streets here for hours. Your private guide shows you the most beautiful places and takes you to the tanneries for which Fez is so famous. From the roof of a house, you follow the process of working and coloring the animal skins. You have a wonderful view of the colored baths in which the leather hides are given a new color. The various Koranic schools, including that of Bou Inania Medersa, are also a sight to behold. Beautiful carvings and colorful mosaics elevate these buildings to true works of art. Still on the program are a visit to the Jewish quarter, the royal palace and the magnificent Jnan Sbil gardens.
Day 6: Sahara
After the hustle and bustle of the city, you seek the tranquility of the desert. You leave very early in the morning as you have a long drive ahead of you. Fortunately, the drive is punctuated by numerous scenic stops, including in Midelt, Errachidia and Erfoud. The bustle of the cities gives way to mountains, sand dunes and palm groves. Tonight you sleep in Merzouga luxury camp, a luxurious tented camp in the desert. On a camel you ride off into the sunset after which you dine under the stars.
Day 7: Dades
Get up early and witness the most beautiful sunrise in the Sahara. After breakfast We head towards the Dades Valley. This spectacular valley consists of different landscapes from green oases full of palms to bright red gorges and deep ravines. You will also visit the oasis of Skoura where a real picnic is waiting for you. Above the lush green Dades Valley is the Eden Boutique hotel, a magnificent example of authentic Moroccan craftsmanship, where you'll spend one night. Enjoy the view from the rooftop terrace, stroll through the gardens, indulge by the pool or in the hammam and dine like a king.
Day 8: Marrakech
After breakfast, it's off to Marrakech. Along the way, visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which once served as a movie set in series such as Game of Thrones and Gladiator. The entire city, meanwhile, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here it's through the Atlas Mountains and via the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech. You will stay two nights in the Medina, the old center of the city, at the beautiful La Sultana Marrakech.
Day 9: Marrakech
Today you'll explore Marrakech: you'll begin at the iconic Koutoubia Mosque and then walk through the Bahia Palace, which once housed the royal family. In the afternoon, stroll through the lively souks of the Medina, where artisans proudly display their crafts, from colorful fabrics to exquisite pottery. Then visit the Majorelle Gardens with exotic plants and the distinctive blue, next to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Dinner takes place on the rooftop terrace of Le Salama, with stunning views of the city.
Day 10: Atlas Mountains
Today you will explore the High Atlas Mountains and learn about Berber culture. An experienced guide leads you through the picturesque mountain landscape past green oases and vast fruit plantations. Along the way you will visit small Berber villages and discover the special flora and the importance of water in this ecosystem. You will experience the hospitality of the Berbers during a traditional tea ceremony, learn to bake bread and enjoy an authentic Berber tajine with fresh, local ingredients.
Day 11: Return home
After breakfast, your driver will take you to Marrakech airport for your return flight home. Would you like to stay even longer? Then extend this tour with a few days on the coast of Essaouira.
