During your tour of Oman, you will discover Eastern mysticism and Western comfort, while being welcomed everywhere by a particularly hospitable population. You will be introduced to atmospheric villages and beautiful mountains such as the Hadji Mountains. You will travel through vast sandy plains in the Sharqiya Desert, hike past green oases and refreshing wadis and be immersed in everyday Arab life, full of cordiality and tradition. An extended visit to the white capital Muscat is also not to be missed. In short, Oman is one of the most authentic and safe and destinations of the Middle East.

DAY 1: Arrival in Muscat

Upon arrival at the airport, your personal driver will already be waiting and will take you to your hotel for the first two nights at The Chedi Muscat or other hotel of your choice. This hotel is known for its excellent spa, where you will enjoy a 90-minute 'Arabian Sea Wave' massage. In the afternoon, head towards the old harbor for a boat ride along the coast, where you will see Muscat from a different perspective and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

DAY 2: Muscat

Today you will visit the impressive Sultan Qaboos Mosque, one of the largest in the world. Then drive through the embassy district and past the opera house towards the old town and port. In an authentic Omani restaurant on the lively Mattrah Corniche you will enjoy a sumptuous lunch. In the early afternoon you return to your hotel where you can relax by the pool or the beach.

DAY 3: Along the coast to the Wahiba Desert

By catamaran or speedboat, including a meal on board, you sail along the scenic coast to the fishing village of Sur. There you will visit the dhow museum, after which you will travel on with your driver-guide towards the Wahiba Desert for two nights in a uniquely located glamping resort in the beautiful sand dunes of the Omani Desert.

DAY 4: Day trip to Wadi Hawer

After breakfast, you will have time to experience the silence of the desert. Then you will be invited to a traditional Omani lunch at the home of a Bedouin family. In the afternoon you will head to the famous Wadi Hawer, a green oasis with natural pools in turquoise and sapphire colored water, perfect for a refreshing swim.

DAY 5: Mountainous Oman

After a short stop in Mudayrib, where the watchtowers overlook the village, visit Birkat Al Mauz, a deserted village at the foot of the mountain. Here you will enjoy a picnic among the date plantations, UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Later you drive into the mountains to Jebel Akhdar, "the green mountain," where the Saiq Plateau at 2000 meters and Diana Point offer stunning views. In the evening, enjoy dinner under the stars on one of Alila's impressive terraces. You stay three nights at Alila Jabal Akhdar, a small hotel at 2,000 meters altitude, on the edge of a ravine in the mighty Al Hajar Mountains.

DAY 6: Nizwa and its castles

Today explore Nizwa, the capital of the sultanate until 1789 and still the spiritual center of Oman. Explore the traditional souk, famous for silverware and Bahla pottery. Then visit the fortress of Nizwa. At Bait al Safa, learn about the daily life of an Omani family. The day ends with a walk through the mountain village of Misfat Al Abriyeen.

DAY 7: Jabal Akhdar

An easy walk on ancient mountain paths connecting villages takes you past terrace landscapes, ancient irrigation systems, petrified corals and a traditional rose water distillery. Admire the beauty of the western Hajar Mountains that change with the seasons.

DAY 8: Back Muscat via mountain villages

Today you cross the western Hadjar Mountains. You will visit the small village of Bilad Sayt, which has retained its traditional charm and rural atmosphere. Surrounded by the mountains of Rustaq, you will picnic among green date palms and terraces. In the afternoon, you arrive in Muscat, where your unforgettable tour of Oman ends.

DAY 9: Return home
