Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide, who will then take you to your hotel. You will stay one night at Hotel Lake Victoria.
Day 2: Kidepo Valley National Park
Today you fly to the remote Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Africa's most beautiful wildernesses. This beautiful park is home to more than 77 mammal species and 475 bird species. After lunch and some rest, set out on an evening safari adventure. You will encounter very few tourists here which immediately gives your safari an exclusive touch. You will stay three nights at the beautiful Apoka Safari Lodge, the only lodge in the park, close to the animals.
Day 3: Walking safari and afternoon safari
After breakfast, you will drive through the Narus Valley for a nature walk in the park. In the afternoon you will enjoy a safari through the vast savannah of Kidepo, where you have a chance to spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, large herds of buffalo, lions, leopards, cheetahs and a wide range of birds. Other wildlife often seen include the jackal, waterbuck, eland, oribi and klipspringer. The park is also home to a high concentration of bird species unique to Uganda, including ostriches, vultures, and several eagles.
Day 4: Morning safari and visit to the Karamojong community
After an early breakfast, you will go on safari and explore the savannah, where an abundance of wildlife can be found. In the afternoon you will visit the Karamojong community and learn more about their way of life and traditions. You will gain more insight into their culture and the pride with which they maintain their traditional lifestyle.
Day 5: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, your private driver will take you to the next highlight of this tour, the beautiful Murchison Falls National Park, located on the shores of Lake Albert. This park is famous for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile plunges through a narrow gorge. In addition to elephants and hippos, the park is also home to chimpanzees in the Kaniyo Pabidi forest, and in the delta of Lake Albert you will find the rare shoebill. You will spend two nights at Nile Safari Lodge, an eco-friendly and luxurious lodge in breathtaking surroundings.
Day 6: Safari and boat trip on the Nile
After an early breakfast, you will go on a safari. You will take a beautiful drive across the savannah, through Borassus Palm Forest and across grasslands to Lake Albert. You will drive through the open African savannah in search of lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants and Jackson Hartebeests. In the afternoon you will take a boat trip down the Nile to Murchison Falls. Then you will hike to the top of the falls, where the Nile wriggles through a deep gorge. You will probably see huge Nile crocodiles at the bottom.
Day 7: Kibale Forest National Park
Today you fly to Kasese. Once you arrive, your private driver will take you to Kibale National Park. You will stay at Ndali Lodge, a cozy lodge on the rim of an extinct volcano between the Bunyaruguru crater lakes. In the afternoon you will take a crater walk, visit tea plantations or meet the local community.
Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi-swamp hike
Today you will go in search of the chimpanzees, the most famous inhabitants of Kibale Forest. With over 1,450 chimpanzees, the park has the largest population of this endangered species in Uganda. After tracking, you will have the opportunity to take a guided walk through the Bigodi swamps, known for their great biodiversity of birds and primates. Later you will go to a nearby village where you will visit a school, talk with the students and teachers and you can even participate in classes.
Day 9: Ishasha Sector and Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will head to the Ishasha Sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is known for its rich biodiversity, with open savannas, rainforests and lakes. Here you will take a safari in search of the unique tree-climbing lions that are often found in this part of the park. Later in the day you will enjoy a beautiful sunset. You will stay one night at Ishasha wilderness camp, a luxurious tented camp in an idyllic setting on the Ntungwe River.
Day 10: Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, take another safari in search of tree-climbing lions. You then continue on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the highlight of this trip. This is because the park is home to the endangered mountain gorilla. This fascinating mountain forest is also home to chimpanzees and the mees spectacular birds. You will spend two nights at Bwindi Lodge which is just above the canopy and offers breathtaking views of the jungle. It is a great place to spot monkeys and birds hidden in the foliage. Nothing beats your jungle experience here.
Day 11: Gorilla trekking
Today you get up very early to prepare for the highlight of your safari: the gorilla trek. A trek to the mountain gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences in the world and a must do when in Uganda. The trek takes between 2 and 6 hours, but you'll forget that effort when you come face to face with these mighty animals An experienced ranger will guide you and share fascinating facts about the flora, fauna and life of the mountain gorillas.
Day 12: Flight back to Entebbe and departure
Your roundtrip in Uganda is sadly at an end. After breakfast, you will fly to Entebbe on a domestic flight. On the way, enjoy the beautiful view from the sky one more time. In Entebbe, take a flight back home.
