Only in Rwanda do you combine an African safari with incredible encounters with two of the world's largest monkey species: mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. After an initial stay in the silent forests of Nyungwe, where a canopy walk takes you among the birds and monkeys, continue your adventure in the savannahs of Akagera National Park for safari rides and a boat ride among the hippos. You conclude in the verdant landscape of Volcanoes National Park, where you will have the chance to come face to face with a gorilla family.

Day 2: Bird watching in Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, depart for Nyungwe Forest, or choose to fly to the park by private charter. Nyungwe Forest National Park is the largest contiguous mountain forest in Africa with 86 mammal species, 280 bird species and some 100 species of orchids. Once you arrive, take a canopy walk through the forest, where you will spot rare birds such as the Rwenzori Toerako and the black and white hornbill. You will stay two nights in a luxury treehouse or villa at One & Only Nyungwe House, secluded in a beautiful part of the national park.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park
Today you get up very early for an impressive chimpanzee trek. The rest of the day is entirely up to you.
