This experience trip lets you discover Indonesia at an unhurried pace. You travel from the temples of Java to the mountain villages of Sulawesi, then continue to Lombok and the Gili Islands and finish by the sea in Bali. The route balances culture and nature, with enough free time in between. You move on when it feels right and stay long enough in each place to truly experience it.

Day 1: Arrival in Yogyakarta
Upon arrival at Yogyakarta airport, you are welcomed by a local guide. A private transfer takes you to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free to recover from the journey.
Day 2: Temples and cycling around Prambanan
Today you explore the temple region around Prambanan. You visit the impressive Hindu temple complex of Prambanan and then walk on to the nearby Sewu temple complex.
In the afternoon, you set off by bicycle for a relaxed ride through villages and rice fields. Along the way, you pass small temples, local houses and farmland, offering a clear insight into daily life in the countryside.
Day 3: Coffee trek and Borobudur
You head into the hills for a light walk through nature and coffee plantations. During the trek, you follow the journey of coffee from plant to cup. The experience ends with a simple coffee preparation and a picnic in the green surroundings.
Later in the day, you visit Borobudur, an impressive Buddhist monument with reliefs depicting the life of Buddha. Afterwards, you return to Yogyakarta.
Day 4: Flight to Sulawesi and Rammang-Rammang
After breakfast, you drive to the airport for a domestic flight to Makassar on the island of Sulawesi. Upon arrival, you continue directly to Rammang-Rammang. You travel by boat past limestone cliffs and palm trees and take a walk through rice fields and valleys. On the way back, you visit the port of Paotere and the historic Fort Rotterdam in Makassar.
Day 5: Overland journey to Tana Toraja
Today features a long but varied drive. You travel through villages and hills towards the Toraja region. Along the way, there are regular photo stops and lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you enjoy panoramic views before reaching Rantepao.
Day 6: Culture and traditions in Toraja
Today you explore the unique funeral culture of Toraja. You visit rock graves with wooden effigies, burial caves where families rest together and sites where centuries-old rituals remain visible. In the afternoon, you walk through Kete Kesu, a traditional village with characteristic tongkonan houses and richly decorated rice barns.
Day 7: Villages and views around Toraja
You visit a classic Toraja village and then drive into the highlands. From the hills, you enjoy views over valleys and rice fields. After lunch, you choose between a short or slightly longer walk through nearby villages. In the late afternoon, you return to your accommodation.
Day 8: Via Makassar to Bali
You depart early from Toraja and drive to Palopo, the nearest airport. From there, you take a domestic flight to Makassar. After a short layover, you continue by flight to Bali. Upon arrival, a transfer takes you to Sanur, where the rest of the evening is free to relax.
Day 9: From Bali to Lombok
You enjoy a calm morning in Sanur. Later in the day, you drive to the harbour of Serangan and take the boat to Lombok. Upon arrival, a transfer takes you to the coast. The afternoon and evening remain free.
Day 10: Waterfalls and villages on Lombok
You travel to the north of Lombok. You walk to two waterfalls set in a cool, green environment. Afterwards, you visit a traditional village and a historic mosque. On the return journey, you drive along a mountain pass with views and monkeys along the road.
Day 11: Free day on Lombok
Nothing is planned today. You enjoy the surroundings, the beach and the relaxed pace.
Day 12: Island hopping to Gili Trawangan
You drive to the harbour and travel by boat past the Gili Islands. Along the way, there is time for swimming and snorkelling. In the afternoon, you arrive on Gili Trawangan.
Day 13: Free day on Gili Trawangan
A day without plans. Everything is within walking or cycling distance. Time for sea, beach and relaxation.
Day 14: Return to Bali
You leave Gili Trawangan by boat and sail back to Bali. Upon arrival, a transfer takes you to Jimbaran. The rest of the day is free.
Day 15: Water blessing and rice terraces
You drive into the interior for a Balinese water blessing at a sacred site. Afterwards, you visit the Sangeh Monkey Forest and enjoy lunch in a green setting. In the afternoon, you walk through the rice terraces of Jatiluwih, with views of mountains and valleys.
Days 16–17: Free days in Jimbaran
Two full days without activities. Time for the beach, the pool or simply doing nothing.
Day 18: Departure
Depending on your departure time, you enjoy a final morning. Afterwards, a transfer takes you to the airport.
