DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN EDINBURGH
Upon arrival in Edinburgh, you head to your hotel to check in. Afterwards, you go out for a first walk through the city. This is a good moment to get a first impression of the historic streets and squares.
DAY 2: EDINBURGH CASTLE & THE ROYAL MILE
Today you visit Edinburgh Castle, set high on an ancient volcanic rock overlooking the city. For centuries it played an important role in Scottish history and served both as a royal residence and a military stronghold. Inside you can see the Scottish Crown Jewels and several historic halls. From the castle walls you enjoy wide views over the rooftops of the city and the surrounding hills.
Afterwards you walk along the Royal Mile, the most famous street in Edinburgh. This historic route connects the castle with the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Along the way you pass old buildings, small shops, traditional pubs and lively squares where street musicians often perform.
DAY 3: DEAN VILLAGE
Dean Village lies a short distance from the centre of Edinburgh, along the Water of Leith. This historic village was once home to water mills that produced flour for the city. As you walk through the area, you pass old houses, small bridges and narrow streets. The atmosphere is quieter than in the city centre, making it a pleasant place to step away from the crowds.
DAY 4: LAST MOMENTS IN THE CITY
After breakfast you head out into the city one last time. From Calton Hill you have a wide view over Edinburgh and the surrounding hills. Afterwards you go to the airport for your return flight.
