Frequently asked questions about this Norway tour
When is the best time to take this tour to Bergen and Ålesund?
The period from June to August is ideal for this route. The days are very long then, the mountain passes are snow-free and the weather conditions are most favourable for activities such as kayaking and coasteering. Moreover, nature is at its greenest during these months.
Is the coasteering activity in Ålesund safe for beginners?
Yes, coasteering is carried out under the supervision of professional guides and all necessary safety equipment, such as a thick wetsuit and a helmet, is included. Although good swimming ability and a healthy dose of daring are required, the activity is accessible to anyone aged 8 and over who enjoys a bit of action.
Why is the town of Ålesund so architecturally unique?
Ålesund is unique because, following a devastating fire in 1904, the town was completely rebuilt in record time in the Art Nouveau style (Jugendstil). As a result, you’ll find an unprecedented concentration of buildings featuring beautiful ornamentation, turrets and façade decorations, which stands in stark contrast to the traditional wooden houses found elsewhere in Norway.
