The Vespa, one of the icons of the 'Italian way of life', is back! Caractère offers you the chance to explore your favourite region in Italy on the world's most famous scooter, in complete freedom, yet along beautiful, marked paths. Vast vineyards, avenues of cypress trees and sleepy villages on steep hills set the scene. The scent of nature accompanies you as you intensely enjoy that blissful feeling of freedom. The routes are designed so that you have plenty of time to enjoy: a lunch in a typical 'trattoria', a wine tasting in the famous wine regions you are bound to pass through or even a diversion to an inviting village on the horizon.
Day 1: Cerreto Langhe
You'll arrive at our exclusive five-star hotel in the heart of Piedmont. Stay overnight in spacious rooms overlooking the vineyards. Enjoy a delicious dinner and taste a range of the world's finest wines.
Day 2: Barolo
Departing from Alba, the birthplace of Ferrero Nutella, the beautiful hilly landscapes covered with vineyards immediately await you. By Vespa, you'll pass countless wine estates and small villages, including, of course, the picturesque village of Barolo. It is remarkably well-stocked with cantinas, enotecas and small restaurants with terraces where you can enjoy the sun and a good glass of the famous wine that has been called the "king of wines" since 1860.
Day 3: Barbaresco
Barbaresco is part of La Terra dei Quattro Vini, or the land of four wines: Barbera, Barbaresco, Dolcetto d'Alba and Moscato d'Asti, the four pearls of this region. The charming village of Barbaresco is located a few kilometres east of Alba and is known for the production of the wine of the same name. A real draw for the wine connoisseurs among us.
Day 4: Roero
The Roero is distinguished by its wide variety of landscapes: in this region you will find many forests and fruit trees in addition to vineyards. In particular, the typical 'Rocce', or cliffs made of gravel and river clay, form beautiful panoramas here. During this route you will also get to know the capital of the Roero region, Bra, the city of origin of the Slow Food movement. This is where the international counter-movement to fast food was born years ago. You can also add the world's largest wine cellar in Pollenzo as a stop on your Vespa trip.
Day 5: Alta Langa
Alta Langa represents one of the best Italian Spumante wines. It is a small, rural area with a high intensity of colours and scents that quietly emerge as you zoom gently through the landscape on the Vespa. You won't find mass tourism in this relatively untouched environment, but silence, peace and breathtaking panoramas.
Day 6: Monferrato
The last round trip of this trip takes you through the land of Moscato d'Asti and Barbera. This area is part of Piedmont's finest wine regions and, along with the Langhe and Roero, is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Sample the noble wines and distinctive flavours of Monferrato in the many wineries, trattorias and agriturismi.
