Piedmont by Vespa in 6 days | Barolo, Barbaresco & Langhe

6 Days - 5 Nights

Route

From a single base in Cerreto Langhe, you will discover five wine regions: Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero, Alta Langa and Monferrato. Each day, you will follow a mapped-out Vespa route along secondary roads between the vineyards.

Rhythm

During the day, you will ride through rolling hills and stop in villages and cantines, returning to the same hotel among the vineyards in the evening.

Highlights

The village of Barolo and its iconic wine, the tower of Barbaresco, the panoramic roads of Alta Langa, the Moscato hills of Monferrato and the cliffs of Roero. Everywhere you go, you can taste the terroir in small enotecas and family cantines.

Accommodation

Five nights in one centrally located hotel among the vineyards. The Vespa is delivered on site with a briefing and roadbook in Dutch or French. Comfort and freedom go hand in hand here.

Profile

For wine lovers who like to drive independently and want to experience the landscape among the grapevines. For travellers who prefer freedom over organised tours and want to experience Piedmont by road.

Day 1: Cerreto Langhe

You will arrive at our exclusive five-star hotel in the heart of Piedmont. You will spend the night in spacious rooms with a view of the vineyards. Enjoy a delicious dinner and taste a selection of the best wines in the world.

Day 2: Barolo

Upon departure from Alba, the birthplace of Ferrero Nutella, you will immediately be greeted by beautiful hilly landscapes covered with vineyards. On your Vespa, you will pass countless wine estates and small villages, including, of course, the picturesque village of Barolo. It is remarkably well equipped with cantines, enotecas and small restaurants with terraces where you can enjoy the sun and a good glass of the famous wine that has been called the “king of wines” since 1860.

Day 3: Barbaresco

Barbaresco is part of La Terra dei Quattro Vini, or the land of four wines: Barbera, Barbaresco, Dolcetto d'Alba and Moscato d'Asti, the four gems of this region. The charming village of Barbaresco is located a few kilometres east of Alba and is known for the production of the wine of the same name. A real attraction for the wine connoisseurs among us.

Day 4: Roero

The Roero region is distinguished by its great variety of landscapes: in addition to vineyards, this region also has many forests and fruit trees. The typical “Rocce”, or cliffs of gravel and river clay, form beautiful panoramas here. During this route, you will also get to know the capital of the Roero region, Bra, the city where the Slow Food movement originated. This is where the international counter-movement to fast food was born years ago. You can also add the largest wine cellar in the world in Pollenzo as a stop during your Vespa trip.

Day 5: Alta Langa

Alta Langa represents one of the best Italian Spumante wines. It is a small, rural area with a high intensity of colours and scents that gradually emerge as you gently buzz through the landscape on your Vespa. In this relatively untouched environment, you will find no mass tourism, but silence, tranquillity and breathtaking panoramas.

Day 6: Monferrato

The last tour of this trip takes you through the land of Moscato d'Asti and Barbera. This area is part of the most beautiful wine regions of Piedmont and, together with Langhe and Roero, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Taste the noble wines and distinctive flavours of Monferrato in the many wine cellars, trattorias and agriturismi.

Day 7: Return home
