Profile
For travellers who want to see different parts of Switzerland in a short time, with nature, mountains and a few cities along the way.
Day 1: Departure to Appenzellerland
The journey begins in Gonten, a small village in the heart of Appenzellerland, where you check into a four- or five-star hotel. After arrival, there is time to settle in and take in the surrounding scenery.
Day 2: Discover Appenzellerland
You explore Appenzellerland at your own pace. Visit the Rothuus, take the cable car up to the Kronberg or head out for a first walk in nature. In winter, cross-country ski trails are close by, while in summer walking paths and open landscapes shape the day.
Day 3: Appenzellerland and Arosa
You drive towards Arosa and notice the scenery gradually changing: fewer rolling hills, more mountain terrain. On arrival, there is time for a first walk or an aperitif with views of the peaks.
Day 4: Arosa
Arosa is all about spending time outdoors. Walk to a mountain lake, follow a panoramic trail or visit the bear sanctuary. What starts as a short outing often stretches a little longer thanks to the setting.
Day 5: Chur from Arosa
Interested in culture and history? Take an excursion to Chur, Switzerland’s oldest city, reached by a panoramic train ride of about one hour. Wander through the old streets and settle on a terrace for a relaxed lunch.
Day 6: Arosa and Lake Lucerne
You leave the Alps behind and head towards Lake Lucerne. The drive already offers beautiful viewpoints. On arrival, the evening revolves around the lake and its calm atmosphere.
Day 7: Lucerne
You reach Lucerne by ferry. The city lies right on the water, with the Kapellbrücke as a clear landmark. Walk from the old streets to the lakeside promenade, stopping for coffee, shopping or simply watching local life.
Day 8: Lake Lucerne and Adelboden
You gain altitude again as you travel towards Adelboden. The air feels fresher, the mountains draw closer and the village works well as a base for mountain activities.
Day 9: Adelboden
A full day outdoors. Walk or cycle in the Alps, then relax in the wellness area. In winter, the focus naturally shifts to snow sports.
Day 10: Adelboden, Glacier 3000 and Montreux
On the way to Montreux, you stop at Glacier 3000 at nearly 3,000 metres above sea level. Wide panoramas open up and the Peak Walk, a suspension bridge linking two mountain summits, stands out as a highlight of the day. You then continue to Montreux for an evening by the lake.
Day 11: Return home
After breakfast, you check out and head home with a suitcase full of memories.
