Itinerary
You start in Cape Town and explore the city and Cape Peninsula. Then you stay in Franschhoek among the vineyards. From Cape Town, you travel on the legendary Rovos Rail to Pretoria, then via Johannesburg to the Welgevonden Game Reserve for a safari.
Rhythm
A few days in Cape Town with a private guide, followed by tasting and dining in the wine lands. On board the Rovos Rail, everything revolves around taking your time: long dinners, views from the carriage and stops in Matjiesfontein and Kimberley. In Welgevonden, you get up early for a safari and enjoy a peaceful afternoon in your lodge.

Day 1: Departure to Cape Town
Today you will depart by airplane towards South Africa. Along the way, you will be pampered with delicious meals, snacks and drinks. Upon arrival, your private driver will be waiting and take you directly to your hotel in Cape Town.
Day 2 - 6: Cape Town
Cape Town has been voted one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And that is more than justified. You will stay four nights in a beautiful hotel right by the sea and not far from the city center. Your vacation starts with discovering one of the seven new natural wonders in the world. You climb Table Mountain on foot or by cable elevator. Together with your private driver you will explore the beautiful historical spots of Cape Town. You will discover the Company Gardens, Bo-Kaap and Signal Hill, among others. You will also spend a full day exploring Cape Peninsula. Here you will enjoy pearly white beaches, spot penguins and take a boat trip to Duiker Island.
Day 6 - 9: Franschhoek
For the next few days, you will spend the next few days in the best base to visit the most famous wineries and discover the best restaurants in South Africa. You stay three nights in a boutique guesthouse on an estate full of vineyards and olive trees. Together with your private driver, you'll spend a full day on a wine tour of three wineries where you can get up close and personal with the winemaking process (and taste 😉 ). You will also visit Stellenbosch where your private guide will take you around the city and tell you all about it while you taste local delicacies and taste the best wines.
Day 9 - 12: Rovos train
Over the next few days, you can expect to embark on a luxurious train adventure that takes you from Cape Town to Johannesburg. Board the "Pride of Africa," a beautifully remodeled luxury train with classic carriages and 36 beautifully appointed suites. Lean back and enjoy the diverse landscapes unfolding behind the windows while enjoying discreet luxury, exquisite cuisine and a selection of the finest South African wines. You will traverse picturesque wine regions, golden grasslands and spectacular mountain ranges. The train makes several stops with highlights including a visit to the historic village of Matjiesfontein, an authentically preserved Victorian village founded in 1890. The train also stops in Kimberley to visit the Diamond Mine Museum and the world's largest man-made excavation, the Big Hole. The train ride ends in Pretoria where a private driver awaits you and transfers you to your hotel in Johannesburg.
Day 12 - 13: Johannesburg
Johannesburg is a city of contrasts: modern skyscrapers stand next to historic buildings, while hip neighborhoods like Maboneng full of art, cafes and markets surprise you. It's best to visit the city with a private guide. You spend the night among the greenery in a stylish boutique hotel with pool, in one of Johannesburg's suburbs.
Day 13 - 16: Laluka
The last four days of your vacation are all about the Big Five. From Johannesburg you go to the Welgevonden Game Reserve, a private game reserve of 36000 ha. The park is home to as many as 50 different animal species including the Big Five. The game reserve invests enormously in prevention. Never before have poachers been able to strike their blow which makes endangered species such as the rhino feel at home here and reproduce easily. You will definitely spot them here. The program includes a bushwalk and several safaris in the morning and afternoon together with a ranger in an open jeep. You will spend the night at the Laluka Safari Lodge, a unique bush getaway that will surprise you in every possible way.
Day 17: Back home
You leave with a luggage full of unforgettable moments back home by plane.
