Day 1: Arrival in Colombo - Negombo - Sigiriya

After arriving in Colombo, usually in the early morning, your private driver-guide will be waiting for you at the airport. Your first stop is a small hotel about 30 minutes away, where you will unwind after the flight. Enjoy a full breakfast, take a refreshing dip in the pool and slowly get used to the Sri Lankan climate. In the afternoon, continue your drive to Sigiriya, in the heart of the Cultural Triangle. After checking into your hotel, explore the area by E-bike. Away from the traditional routes, you cycle past rice fields and villages where daily life follows its own rhythm. Along the way, hop into a canoe for a short trip on Lake Thalkotte - with views of both the iconic Rock of Sigiriya and the quieter Pidurangala.

Day 2: Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa

After an early breakfast, climb the impressive Rock Fortress of Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with frescoes, hiding caves and ruins of a royal palace. During the tough climb, you'll not only get stunning views, but also the story of King Kasyapa, who sought refuge here. After the descent, you are invited to an authentic cooking experience. On an open fire you will learn to prepare a fragrant curry, followed by a home-cooked lunch full of local flavors. In the afternoon, drive to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a former royal city with monumental ruins such as the Royal Palace, the Vatadage and the Gal Vihara Temple.

Day 3: Dambulla - Kandy

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Kandy. En route, stop at the Golden Temple of Dambulla, Sri Lanka's largest and best-preserved cave complex, with dozens of Buddha statues and colorful murals. Once you arrive in Kandy, walk through the lively city center and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, the country's most important Buddhist shrine. Spend the night in a Caractère hotel in the hilly capital.

Day 4: Kandy - Ella

After breakfast you depart for Ella, a drive through some of the most beautiful scenery in Sri Lanka. On the way you will visit a tea plantation and factory, where you will discover the complete production process and of course taste a fresh cup of tea. After arriving at your Caractère hotel, you can relax or explore the cozy town, which is bustling with energy and surrounded by green hills.

Day 5: Ella - Yala

The day starts actively with the ascent of Little Adam's Peak. A panoramic view of tea fields and mountains awaits at the top. Those who fancy some extra adrenaline can venture up the Flying Ravana - Sri Lanka's first zipline, with 500 meters of speed and spectacular views. After lunch in Ella, you'll depart for Yala. Along the way you will hike to the iconic Nine Arches Bridge and visit the Ravana Falls, which according to local myths are linked to the legendary demon king Ravana. By dusk you arrive at your hotel in Yala.

Day 6: Yala

After an early breakfast, you depart on jeep safari in Yala National Park. The park is known for its large leopard population, but you will also spot elephants, crocodiles, monkeys and colorful bird species. After the safari, you return to the hotel. The rest of the day is free.

Day 7: Yala - Galle - Weligama

After breakfast, drive south to Galle. This historic port city is surrounded by thick fortress walls from the Dutch colonial era. Stroll through the old streets, visit the church and colonial houses, or stroll along the fortress wall overlooking the sea. After lunch in Galle, drive on to Weligama, a quiet coastal town on the south coast where you check in for a seaside stay.

Day 8 - 10: Weligama

Three days of relaxation on the coast. Weligama is known for its laid-back atmosphere, expansive beaches and colorful fishing boats. Go snorkeling or diving among turtles, take a boat trip in search of whales or venture out for an initiation in surfing. Or just do nothing: book a massage, read a book under a palm tree and let the rhythm of the ocean do the rest.

Day 11: Return home

After breakfast, depart for Colombo International Airport for your return flight - with a head full of memories of a trip that will stay with you for a long time.
