Timeless Namibia

Introducing the lasting impressions of Namibia

14 Days - 13 Nights

Route

You will travel through Namibia from Windhoek to the dunes of Namib-Naukluft National Park, continue on to Walvis Bay on the Atlantic Ocean and travel via Damaraland to Etosha National Park.

Rhythm

With a private driver, you can travel in comfort. Rise early for a game drive, then enjoy lunch in the afternoon with a view of endless plains. The distances are long, but the view makes every kilometre worthwhile.

Highlights

At sunrise, you climb a dune in Sossusvlei as the sand slowly turns red. On the Skeleton Coast, you stand at the Zeila wreck, where the ocean and desert meet. In Damaraland, you search with your guide for desert elephants in dry riverbeds, and in Etosha, you sit quietly by a waterhole and wait for the wildlife to appear.

Accommodation

You will sleep in lodges located in the middle of the landscape. In the evening, you will dine under the stars, sometimes with only the sound of a distant jackal.

Profile

Ideal for those who love vast landscapes, safaris without crowds and comfortable lodges in places you would otherwise never visit.

Day 1 – 3: Windhoek

Upon arrival on Namibian soil, your private driver will warmly welcome you. You head straight into the wilderness, where vast plains, graceful acacia trees and the warm African sun greet you. These first days are all about slowing down. Enjoy your first safari, sip a sundowner in the bush and dine under a sky full of stars.

Day 4 – 5: Namib-Naukluft National Park

You travel south, deeper into the desert. The landscape shifts with every kilometre – from flat to rolling dunes, from rocky ground to soft sand. At sunrise, you climb the iconic dunes of Sossusvlei, mesmerised by the changing light and colour. You discover how life survives the dryness, from small desert creatures to majestic oryx. Looking for more? A hot-air balloon flight or a horseback ride adds an extra touch of magic.

Day 6 – 8: Walvis Bay

Through mountain passes and moonlike valleys, you reach the coast. Here, desert and ocean meet in a surreal setting. Explore the area at your own pace – on foot, by jeep or by boat. Spot seals, dolphins and flamingos, enjoy a peaceful cruise through the bay or breathe in the salty sea air during a long beach walk.

Day 9 – 10: Damaraland

You continue to one of Namibia’s most rugged and breathtaking regions: Damaraland. Rust-coloured mountains, silent valleys and ancient rock engravings define this timeless landscape. Everything feels more intense here – the silence, the space, the raw beauty. If you're lucky, you might spot desert elephants, giraffes or even lions wandering the dry riverbeds. You’ll visit the surreal Moon Landscape and enjoy lunch at the hidden green oasis of Goanikontes. At the Skeleton Coast, you witness the slow decay of the Zeila shipwreck, battered by ocean and wind. During the Huab Excursion, a local guide takes you into nature in search of wildlife tracks and stories whispered by the land.

Day 11 – 13: Onguma Game Reserve (Etosha)

Northern Namibia shows its wildest face. You explore the savannah by jeep, stop at waterholes teeming with wildlife and experience the magic of a sunset accompanied by the roar of distant lions. By day, you’ll spot rhinos, giraffes and elephants; by night, enjoy a fine glass of wine by the campfire, under a canopy of stars.

Day 14: Journey home

After a final breakfast in the African wilderness, your driver takes you to the airport. You return home with a heart full of impressions and a suitcase full of unforgettable memories.

Frequently asked questions about this Namibia tour

Isn’t Namibia dangerous to travel through?

Namibia is considered one of the safest countries in Africa for travel. Outside the cities it is extremely quiet. As you travel with a private driver, you also avoid navigating remote roads yourself and can explore the country in a relaxed way.

Is it difficult to see animals during a safari in Etosha National Park?

Etosha National Park is known as one of the best parks in Africa for wildlife spotting. Many animals gather around waterholes, especially during the dry season. This means you often see elephants, giraffes, zebras and antelopes without searching for hours.

Is a safari in Namibia comparable to one in South Africa or Tanzania?

Not exactly. In Namibia the landscapes are just as important as the wildlife. The combination of red desert dunes, wide open plains, rugged mountains and safari experiences makes the country unique. You often experience far more space and tranquillity than in busier safari destinations.
