Stroll through the gardens, follow the paths along the coastline and enjoy the serene atmosphere and the fresh sea air. In the evening, you can enjoy a culinary experience at the Michelin-starred Courtier restaurant. Be sure to ask about the guided tour led by the hotel manager. Once a week, he takes guests on a walk around the grounds, sharing interesting stories and amusing anecdotes.
Day 2: Lübeck
Today you’ll discover the ‘Hanseatic city’ of Lübeck, one of Germany’s most beautiful cities. The city of the seven towers boasts a stunning historic centre listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the famous Holsten Tower, stroll through the many picturesque streets and be sure to sample the marzipan for which Lübeck is famous. You can also take a boat trip around the city. Afterwards, it’s time for pure relaxation in the resort’s award-winning spa with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and invigorating treatments.
Day 3: Cycle ride along the Baltic Sea coast
An active day begins with a cycle ride along the coast. Whether on your own bike or a hire bike, armed with a detailed map from the hotel, you can explore beautiful routes and cycle past a historic distillery, an artisan cheese dairy and the Rahtje fishing company. You’ll finish at Selenter See, the region’s second-largest lake.
Day 4: Hamburg
Bustling Hamburg, on the River Elbe, is Germany’s second-largest city. The city boasts one of Europe’s largest ports. Here you can visit the Speicherstadt, the world’s largest warehouse complex, and the Elbphilharmonie, a concert hall with a futuristic look. You’ll explore the lively Sankt Pauli district with the famous Reeperbahn and round off the day with a drink by the Alster, a tributary of the Elbe. Back at the resort, take a dip in one of the various heated swimming pools.

After a final breakfast, you’ll return home with a suitcase full of wonderful memories.
Frequently asked questions about this holiday on the German Baltic Sea coast
When is the best time to visit the German Baltic Sea coast?
The sunniest period is from June to August. During these months, the sea temperature is at its most pleasant, and you can fully enjoy long days on the beach and outdoor yoga sessions. For those seeking peace and quiet, wellness and the Hanseatic cities, spring and autumn (May and September) are wonderful; the natural surroundings of the Sehlendorfer Binnensee are at their best then, and it is quieter at attractions such as Schloss Plön.
Is the resort also suitable as a base for visiting cities?
Absolutely. Although the Weissenhaus Private Nature Luxury Resort is an oasis of tranquillity, it is strategically very well located. The historic UNESCO city of Lübeck and the port city of Kiel are about a 45 to 60-minute drive away. Even the cosmopolitan city of Hamburg is easily accessible for a day trip. This allows you to effortlessly combine the luxury of a historic estate by the sea with the vibrancy of Germany’s major cities.
Do I need to bring my own bikes for the coastal rides?
You can, but it isn’t necessary. The resort has high-quality hire bikes and detailed route maps. The paths along the Baltic Sea coast and towards Lake Selent are mostly flat and very well maintained, making them ideal for a leisurely bike ride. Don’t forget to stop off at the local artisan cheese dairy or the historic distillery along the way for a taste of the region’s authentic flavours.
