Day 1: Departure for Catalonia
You set off for Catalonia, a region full of contrasts, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean Sea. Once you’ve arrived at your hotel, you can relax in the Wine Spa in the evening.
Day 2: Discover the secrets of Peralada
Today you’ll stay close to the hotel and learn the secrets of Peralada wine. You’ll be given a guided tour of the winery, followed by a tasting of their various wines. After a delicious lunch, you’ll delve into the history of the estate. On a guided tour, you’ll explore the castle, the gardens and the wine museum. The tour ends in the monastery cellar where the famous Gran Claustro wine is still produced. You’ll round off your day with a culinary dinner paired with wines.
Day 3: Empordà wine region
Start the day with a visit to a winery where you’ll learn more about their organic viticulture practices. Finally, enjoy a tasting of their award-winning wines. Afterwards, take a stroll through the vineyards and soak up the beautiful landscape of the Empordà region. You’ll continue to a winery founded by local winegrowers. Here they produce a variety of wines, including red, white, rosé and dessert wines. During your visit, you’ll learn more about the history and winemaking traditions of the region, followed by a tasting of their diverse wines.
Day 4: Transfer to Priorat
You’ll drive on to the next Caractère hotel in Tarragona. On the way, you’ll stop off in Manresa, a charming historic town perfect for exploring on foot. In the evening, you’ll sit down to a tasting menu paired with wines.
Day 5: Priorat wine route
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Then set off on a wine tasting tour of some of Priorat’s finest wineries. You can book in advance at renowned wineries in the region. You’ll learn about the history and production methods of Priorat wines whilst sampling some delicious wines. Various experiences are available, such as a visit to the vineyards, taking part in the grape harvest or guided wine tastings. You’ll round off the day with dinner at a local restaurant specialising in dishes that pair perfectly with Priorat wines.
Day 6: Among the vineyards
Today is all about relaxation. You’ll enjoy the beautiful surroundings with a picnic amongst the vineyards. The hotel will be happy to provide you with a well-stocked picnic basket. Back at your hotel, you can take part in a wine tasting session where you’ll learn about the differences between Priorat wines. Combined with local and seasonal dishes, this is the perfect way to round off the day.
Day 7: Back home
