Day 1: Departure to Catalonia
You depart for Catalonia, a region full of contrasts, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean Sea. Once you arrive at your hotel, spend the evening relaxing at the Wine Spa.
Day 2: Discover the secrets of Peralada
You will stay near the hotel today and learn the secrets of Perelada wine. You will get a tour of the winery and then taste their different wines. After a delicious lunch you will dive into the history of the estate. Through a guided tour you will discover the castle, gardens and wine museum. The tour ends in the monastery cellar where the famous Gran Claustro wine is still produced. You will end your day with a culinary dinner with matching wines.
Day 3: Empordà Wine Region
Start the day with a visit to a winery where you will learn more about their organic winemaking practices. Finally, you will enjoy a tasting of their award-winning wines. Then you will take a walk through the vineyards and take in the beautiful scenery of the Empordà region. You will continue to a winery established by local vintners. Here they produce different wines such as red, white, rosé and dessert wines. During your visit, you will learn about the history and winemaking traditions of the region, followed by a tasting of their various wines.
Day 4: Moving on to Priorat
You will continue your drive to the next Caractère hotel in Tarragona. Along the way, you'll make a stop in Manresa, a nice historic town to explore on foot. In the evening, slip your feet under the table for a tasting menu with matching wines.
Day 5: Priorat wine route
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Then embark on a wine tasting tour of some of Priorat's best wineries. You can book in advance at famous wineries in the region. You will learn about the history and production methods of Priorat wines while also tasting delicious wines. Different experiences are available such as visiting the vineyards, participating in the grape harvest or guided wine tastings. You'll end the day with dinner at a local restaurant that specializes in dishes that pair perfectly with Priorat wines.
Day 6: Among the vineyards
Today is dedicated to relaxation. You will take advantage of the beautiful surroundings with a picnic among the vineyards. The hotel will gladly provide you with a well-stocked picnic basket. At your hotel you can participate in a wine tasting where you will learn the differences between the Priorat wines. That combined with local and seasonal dishes in the perfect finale.
Day 7: Return home
