The hotel is set on a centuries-old estate. The buildings it now occupies were originally a Mallorcan possessió (country manor) with foundations dating back to the 13th century. A stay here means more than just enjoying luxury; it also means sleeping in a place with over 800 years of history, surrounded by the peaceful Mallorcan countryside.
The rooms at Son Xotano are spacious and filled with natural light, with large windows overlooking the hills and vineyards. Natural materials, soft tones, a comfortable bed and an inviting seating area create a relaxed atmosphere. The bathrooms feature Aesop products. Indoors and outdoors blend seamlessly through French doors opening onto private terraces or balconies.
Our favourite room at Son Xotano is the Superior Junior Suite with Terrace. The reason is simple: the terrace. At 37 m², the space feels generous, but it is the large private terrace with panoramic views over the hills that truly sets it apart.
Son Xotano is not located by the sea, but in the peaceful inland countryside of Mallorca, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills. The nearest beach is Es Trenc on the southern coast, about a thirty-minute drive away. On the estate, one outdoor swimming pool overlooks the landscape. It is open from March to October and is not heated. Ideal for a refreshing dip on warm days, a few laps, or simply floating with a book within reach.
Son Xotano offers outdoor yoga sessions, ideally in the early morning when the landscape slowly awakens. Massages take place in the garden or in the privacy of your room. For those who enjoy being active: cycling routes winding through the countryside past vineyards and small villages, walks with wide island views, or horseback rides that reveal Mallorca from a different perspective. The sea lies about thirty minutes away. The hotel arranges boat trips to secluded coves. Guests can also meet local artists and artisans.
