As night falls, Venice envelops itself in its dreamiest attire. Tough men in striped jerseys leave their 'gondole' in the stunning setting of 'La Serenissima'. Eight years were spent training them to balance what is arguably the most romantic vessel in the world. Their numbers are limited and the honour only comes to true Venetians. Only when someone retires or dies can their place be taken, and it is the elders who get the most coveted spots, on the Rialto Bridge or in St Mark's Square. According to legend, the gondola owes its shape to the crescent moon that dropped into the lagoon to hide from the eyes of the outside world with its dazzling light the secret happiness of a young couple.

Relax in the small wellness center with sauna and hammam at an additional charge. Opt for an even more relaxing massage or body treatment. Prefer something sport? Blow off some steam in the free fitness. Visit the main sights and museums and the islets of Murano (famous for its glassware), Burano (for its lace) and Torcello. This is where you'll find the 'real' Venice including local restaurants, quiet squares, colorful laundry, numerous altars and a boat with fruits and vegetables where the locals do their shopping.
Make sure to taste the chef's delicious risotto!
