The mighty 19th-century military fortress of Cap Rocat was completely restored and renovated into a boutique hotel by local architect Antonio Obrador. It is spectacularly situated on a rocky plateau in an unspoiled stretch of the Bay of Palma, with a staircase descending to the sea. All the rooms are totally different and were tastefully decorated with beautiful materials. The restaurant is known for its sophisticated Mediterranean cuisine, and both the landscaped saltwater pool and spa are additional assets for all those who want to experience Majorca in a different way.
Caractère clients receive in-room amenities such as local pastries, fruit baskets, water, etc.
The hotel is open from March to November.

The national monument Cap Rocat, located on a private 88-hectare site and 2 kilometres of coastline, is not only a beautiful hotel, but also a natural park with a unique fauna flora. The former 19th-century military fort is impressively integrated into the landscape. Thanks to its ingenious construction, with the fort woven into the cliffs, its imposing walls and defences remain invisible from both the mainland and the sea. Only the canopies of the roof terraces stand out on the horizon. The hotel retains many of the original defensive elements, such as a drawbridge, bunkers and trenches. The former gun emplacements have been transformed into luxury suites, each with its own patio and terrace.
The rooms and suites are spread across the different parts of the fortress and overlook the mountains, the sea or the Bay of Palma. All are totally different, tastefully decorated with beautiful materials.
Sentinels is our favourite room with a small private pool, hammocks, table and chairs. The outdoor terraces are at the edge of the cliffs so you can enjoy the beautiful views and incredible sunsets here.
You can take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool or in the sea.
Cap Rocat's spa is carved deep into the fort, on the spot where the water reservoir used to be. The centrepiece is an impressive saltwater pool, located 12 metres underground. Despite its depth, the space is remarkably bright thanks to a wide glass conservatory-style ceiling structure, which lets in the radiant Majorcan sunlight during the day. At night, the bright, star-filled sky makes for an enchanting swimming experience.
The hotel is adults friendly where guests are welcome from 15 years of age.
Cap Rocat's main restaurant is located in one of the fort's former central buildings. The cuisine focuses on Mediterranean dishes that change with the seasons and are prepared with products from local, ecological farms. The Sea Club, located by the sea, is an open-air restaurant where dishes are prepared in a traditional Majorcan wood-burning oven and on the grill. The fort's former kitchen, done in typical Majorcan style, has been converted into a private dining room where wine tastings and cooking workshops are organized.
Cap Rocat is spectacularly located on a rocky plateau, in peace and quiet, in the most secluded corner of the Bay of Palma. A system of steps leads to the sea and to several swimming areas and beach, around the former pier, in the breathtaking landscape of a protected nature reserve. The capital Palma is about 18 km away.
Pama airport is 14 kilometres away.
