This medieval castle was renovated with great style by the enterprising aristocratic Bolza family, who themselves lived there for many years. They transformed their home into a stunning and absolutely unique hotel, including a small church, beautiful interior gardens and a cozy orangery. The surrounding houses on the estate were also very classily transformed into luxury villas, which can be rented.
All spacious rooms are decorated in a cozy and very personal style with contemporary and classic elements and with a nod to the illustrious figures who once lived here. They feature views of the inner garden or the countryside, a telephone, a minibar with free snacks and soft drinks, a coffee maker, a safe, air conditioning, high speed wifi, parquet or terracotta floors. The bathrooms are equipped with a bath and shower, toilet, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. In some of the rooms, the bath is in the room. 3 rooms are provided with a shower only.
All the rooms in this hotel are amazing, but if you would like a terrace, the Suite San Michele is recommended.
This hotel offers a superbly located and heated outdoor pool surrounded by umbrella pines with a bar,loungers, towels, showers and changing rooms. The pool is open from the end of April to the end of October.
The bathhouse is located in the former wine cellars, and features a heated saltwater pool, a sauna and hammam. Enjoy a blissful massage or treatment. The stables in the estate house some of the best and most skilled dressage horses in Italy. Riding lessons are also possible. A free dressage show with Andalusian horses takes place once a week in summer. In need of something sporty? Play tennis for free. For cycling enthusiasts, there are (electric) bicycles available. Other activities include clay pigeon shooting, fishing, animal spotting with the gamekeeper and truffle hunting.
This hotel offers an excellent breakfast buffet including honey from their own production and fresh fruit from the orchard. Breakfast is not provided for guests staying at the villas. Light lunch is available by the pool. The 2 restaurants serve traditional Italian cuisine based on fresh, organically grown and local ingredients, mostly from their own vegetable garden.
