Hotel Miramalfi narrates the story of a man and his love for his country. At the end of the 19th century, Francesco Mansi Amalfi went to Mexico to look for work. After living there for a long time, the yearning for his homeland grew to be too strong and he decided to return home with his family. He wanted to give something back to Amalfi, the place where he spent his childhood years, as a token of appreciation for this beautiful city. In 1956, after six years of building this hotel, he stood on the terrace and said the following to his wife: "From here you can admire Amalfi". After his stay in Mexico, he had mastered the Spanish language and wanted to take advantage of this. He decided to call the hotel 'Miramalfi', meaning 'look at Amalfi'.

Hotel Miramalfi is 800 metres away from the centre of Amalfi. From there several boats leave for other towns on the Amalfi coast and the Bay of Naples. Sorrento is about an hour and a half away by ferry and an hour away by car.
