With modern, minimalist and balanced features, the Montebelo Vista Alegre Ílhavo Hotel grows around the Nova Ala building, which houses the reception, Vista Alegre Restaurant and bars, as well as the wellness area with the indoor pool and Spa Vista Alegre.
On each floor of the rooms in the hotel Ala Nova [New Wing], the production process of porcelain pieces is shown: on the second floor there are elements that allude to the Molds of the pieces, the second floor shows the White Pieces and the third floor is inspired by Decorated Pieces, this inspiration is adopted in the decoration of the common areas and rooms, in the signs and in the hall of the rooms.
The balance between ancient and modern, the guiding principle throughout the project, is achieved by a cornucopia staircase that connects the Ala Nova [New Wing] to the Palácio Residência dos Fundadores da Vista Alegre [Palace of the Founders of Vista Alegre], an ancient building that has retained its original design. The Palácio has ten rooms with unique architecture and decoration.
PAINTERS PALACE:
The Palácio dos Mestres Pintores [Master Painters Palace] has 13 rooms and is located next to the Palácio Residência dos Fundadores da Vista Alegre [Founder's Palace of Vista Alegre] and the chapel Nossa Senhora da Penha de França, once the home of Vista Alegre's first painter, Frenchman Victor Rousseau.
The decor is inspired by fauna and flora, with pieces from Vista Alegre designed exclusively for this space. All rooms have their own theme and are different from each other, and enjoy a more intimate atmosphere, being independent of the hotel's Ala Nova building.
