Le Domaine de Camboyer

Le Domaine de Camboyer is tucked away in a lush parkland dotted with plane trees, ponds and centuries-old trees.

Just nearby, the iconic Canal du Midi winds its way through Occitanie. Stretching for almost 250 kilometres, this 17th-century canal links Toulouse to the Mediterranean and stands as a remarkable feat of engineering. Today, it is defined by historic locks, elegant aqueducts and long, shaded towpaths lined with plane trees. Life here moves at a gentler pace: cyclists follow the canal from village to village, boats drift quietly past and small cafés and peaceful spots invite you to pause along the way.

Set along the Véloccitanie cycling route, Le Domaine de Camboyer is an ideal base for exploring Occitanie by bike. Each ride ends back in calm, green surroundings, far from the crowds and close to the landscape.

NICE TO KNOW

The history of Domaine de Camboyer dates back to the 17th century, when Pierre-Paul Riquet presented his ambitious project for the Canal du Midi to King Louis XIV. At the time, the estate was home to the de Reynes family of Flemish origin. According to local tradition, Barthélémy de Reynes played a role in the construction of the canal and received Camboyer as a reward. Two tree frogs, the family emblem of the de Reynes, still decorate the fireplace in the living room today.

About the rooms

The rooms have been recently renovated with respect for their original character. Historic features blend subtly with contemporary touches, and all look out over the expansive 8-hectare park.

The estate offers a small spa with sauna, hydromassage bath and fitness facilities. Treatments, yoga classes and meditation sessions can be booked in advance. Within the 8-hectare park, marked walking paths lead past pétanque courts, table tennis and billiards, amid wild orchids, ponds and tree frogs.
