Southwest of Sardinia is the province of Carbonia-Iglesias, a region known for its large lead and zinc mines. When the mines closed in the late 1960s, the miners and their families moved away from the area, leaving behind empty villages. In an abandoned mining depot, right on the beach, between the imposing dunes and the crystal clear sea, lies the 5-star eco-resort Le Dune Piscinas. The hotel is an ode to the history of the region, seen through the eyes of the owners who are passionate about contemporary art. The artwork in the hotel pays tribute to the men, women and children who once worked in the mines.
Caractère clients receive a welcome drink on arrival and complimentary water in the room.
