Monastik Living in Athina is the ultimate project of architectural duo George Gavalas and Giannis Mourikis - also the owners of the hotel. The two have been working together for more than 25 years on various architectural and scenographic projects, both inside and outside Greece. With this project, they tried to approach the essence of Greek 'philoxenia'; a time-honoured concept of hospitality and openness towards strangers.
At this hotel, you will find a carefully curated selection of luxurious suites that seamlessly combine modern elegance with timeless charm. From the City View Suite to the Acropolis View Penthouse Suite, each room has been carefully designed. All suites feature a smart TV with Netflix, bathrobes and slippers, cosmetics, coffee machine and minibar. They also always feature a king-size bed, with a choice of a custom pillow menu for the perfect night's sleep.
The Acropolis suite with whirlpool is our favourite! From the plunge pool, equipped with massage jets, you overlook Greece's most famous and important monument.
The most beautiful and special area of this hotel is undoubtedly the 'roof garden' or rooftop garden. Here you can enjoy a small outdoor pool with massage jets (3x2 m) and the Greek sun in one of the sunbeds. In winter, by the way, the latter are swapped for a fire pit and the garden becomes a very cosy place to be together.

The hotel is located in the beautiful residential neighbourhood of Mets - perhaps one of Athens' most pleasant districts. Mets is an affluent neighbourhood, home to young professionals, artists and long-established residents. Its collection of narrow streets and green avenues, combined with its proximity to all the city's famous attractions, make Mets the ideal base for a city break. The Acropolis, Syntagma Square and the city's shopping heart are all just over a kilometre the hotel. Mets itself is also home to some cultural gems, such as the famous Half Note Jazz Club. Perhaps another surprising fact: close to the hotel you will find Athens' first cemetery. While that may not sound so appealing, this is still a very special place to visit. Think of it as a Mediterranean version of the famous Père Lachaise in Paris - with beautiful tombstones and lush vegetation.
