The name Nantipa means “blue” in the indigenous Chorotega language, referring to both the sky and the ocean. Nicoya is also one of the world’s rare Blue Zones, where people are known to live remarkably long and healthy lives.
The suites, bungalows and villas are filled with natural light and tucked away amid lush vegetation. Locally crafted furniture, light tones and natural materials such as wood and rattan create a calm, open atmosphere. Each accommodation features a terrace, garden or beach views, air conditioning, a minibar and coffee facilities. The bathrooms are spacious and fitted with a comfortable shower.
The bungalows are ideal for couples and feature a private terrace with an outdoor plunge pool measuring 3.5 x 3.5 metres, a hammock and a double indoor and outdoor shower. Families will feel right at home in the standalone villas, offering three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living area with an open-plan kitchen, a terrace with an outdoor pool and views over the ocean.
The outdoor swimming pool is open year-round and provides a peaceful spot to relax. From here, you can step straight onto the beach, where sun loungers await for a day of sun, sea and pure relaxation.
At the Mumu Wellness Center, yoga, pilates, massages and body treatments take place in an open-air setting, surrounded by tropical greenery and natural sounds. Nature lovers can explore Cabo Blanco National Park or the Curu Reserve, both ideal for hiking and birdwatching. For a dose of adventure, ziplining at the Montezuma waterfalls or in Mal País offers spectacular views. Snorkelling, surfing, diving or a boat trip to Tortuga Island complete the experience, often with the chance to spot dolphins, sea turtles or even whales.
Children are welcome at Nantipa. While there are no dedicated children’s facilities, the sea, the beach and the spacious suites make this a lovely place for families looking to slow down and enjoy time together.
The Rondón Stew, a fragrant coconut-based stew with seafood, is best enjoyed at a table set right on the beach.
Casual to casual chic.
Restaurant Manzú is set in an open-air setting, with a spacious beachfront terrace and sweeping ocean views. This is where the day begins with breakfast, continues with a relaxed lunch or winds down in the evening as the soft light of the setting sun fills the space. The kitchen blends Costa Rican Tico recipes with international influences, using freshly caught fish, seafood and locally sourced produce.
