The rooms are simply and timelessly decorated, in light colours in harmony with the surrounding nature. All decorative elements such as cork, woven baskets and marble pay tribute to local craftsmanship. All rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies.
The SUNSET room is our favourite. Just its name gives you instant holiday vibes. It is a room with bright colours and an outdoor terrace overlooking the town of Santiago do Cacem.
Lazing around and getting lightly bronzed by the outdoor pool while you wait for the next meal is totally okay here. By the pool you'll find several umbrellas and beach chairs on which you can dream away.
Sports enthusiasts can have a blast in the gym. Don't forget to explore the surrounding area as well since it is a beautiful region. The concierge will be happy to find the perfect Alentejan activity for you. Whether it is a brisk walk, horse riding, jeep tour or electric bicycle excursion, everything is possible here. The chefs at restaurant A Terra, the hotel's vast open restaurant and also main meeting place, work in a fully open kitchen. There are even TV screens that show a close-up of their handiwork, so every meal is instantly also a live cooking demonstration. The menu is mostly Mediterranean-inspired. Many of the tasty dishes are prepared authentically in a wood-fired oven or on a barbecue. Although the dishes are constantly changing depending on the harvest, you can count on lots of locally produced cheese and pork, variations on Açorda (an Alentejo stew), fresh fish, mussels and oysters from the nearby Atlantic coast and aromatic herbs from the chef's garden.
Octant Santiago is peacefully located in the hills of Cercal, 500 m from the centre of Santiago do Cacém, a small sleeping town, and 17 km from the beach of Santo André. Sines is at 18 km, Alcácer do Sal and the beautiful unspoilt beach of Comporta at 52 km, Beja at 80 km, Lisbon at 143 km and Évora at 150 km.
Lisbon Airport is the closest to the hotel. It is approximately an hour and a half away, about 140 km. Faro airport is slightly further away, approximately a two-hour drive, about 171 km.
A transfer from the airport to the hotel can be arranged for you. Pricing is available on request at the hotel. We do recommend taking a rental car, as there is so much to see and explore in the Alentejo that it would be a pity to miss it all.
