The 32 rooms and suites are divided between the historic mansion and the more modern wing. They are all warmly and tastefully decorated with a nod to Scottish tradition, without feeling dated. Each room offers a lovely view of the surrounding woods or the beautiful hotel gardens.
The 'Deluxe Room' in the original mansion is our absolute favourite. Here, you stay in a room with high ceilings and large windows, offering a wonderful view across the treetops.
Although the hotel itself is not located directly on a lake, the River Tummel flows nearby and Loch Faskally is practically in your backyard. Walk to the water in just half an hour for a beautiful stroll along the banks, rent a kayak, or visit the famous Pitlochry Dam and fish ladder, where you can watch the salmon leap upstream.
Put on your walking shoes, because the most beautiful routes through the woods of Perthshire start right at the front door. After a brisk hike in the Highlands, it is wonderful to relax in the lounge by the open fire with a good book or a local single malt whisky.
Children are more than welcome here. Free baby cots are available, and the spacious family rooms ensure a comfortable stay for the whole family.
In the hotel’s welcoming restaurant, Fauna, you can pull up a chair and enjoy the very best that Scottish nature has to offer. The head chef works on a ‘field-to-fork’ basis, creating seasonal dishes that let the ingredients shine. The menu showcases exceptional local produce from the Perthshire region, from fresh river fish and Scottish salmon to premium game and Scottish beef. After dinner, you can head straight into the cosy bar for a fine single malt whisky by the open fire.
The hotel is located in Pitlochry, a charming Victorian town right in the geographical heart of Scotland. The hotel itself sits just outside the town centre, tucked away in a quiet and wooded private estate of no less than ten hectares. Here, you can enjoy the absolute peace and quiet of the Highlands, while the lively centre of Pitlochry with its shops and pubs is within walking distance.
The airports of Edinburgh and Glasgow are the best starting points. From both airports, it is about a 1.5 to 2-hour drive to the hotel.
Prefer to travel stress-free and without a rental car? The hotel is happy to help arrange a private transfer from the airport or Pitlochry train station (at an additional charge). Just let us know in advance, and we will ensure a driver is waiting for you.
A car is the perfect way to discover the vast Highlands. The hotel is very easy to reach, and there is free parking right outside where you can safely leave your vehicle. Coming with an electric vehicle? Charging points are available on-site (subject to a fee).
A fantastic, central spot in the Highlands. Here, you stay in a historic mansion tucked away among the trees, yet you can walk into the charming village of Pitlochry in just fifteen minutes. A lovely, personal hotel with warm Scottish hospitality.
