This stylish colonial-style quinta will provide you with the luxury that also attracted its original inhabitants to the place. In 1808, General Beresford settled there to lead the fight against Napoleon's fleet. This heritage was transformed by its subsequent owners, the famous wine family Blandy, into an intimate luxury hotel with 41 rooms and suites that all overlook the exceptionally beautiful exotic garden and the Atlantic Ocean. The interior of the quinta was carefully decorated to preserve its original character. The hotel's botanical gardens are one of a kind and contain numerous rare plants, ancient trees and a small lake from which the quinta takes its name. Staying in this luxurious oasis definitely makes for an unforgettable experience.
All Caractère customers receive a bottle of water, fruit and flowers in their room on arrival. Newlyweds and guests celebrating their wedding anniversaries (maximum 30 days after the date, and a certificate is required) get a room type upgrade according to availability, a bottle of sparkling wine, one free half-board dinner and one afternoon tea for stays of at least seven nights.
This hotel is open all year round. However, it is necessary to book in advance.
The 41 rooms and suites have been decorated with great taste and care to preserve the authentic character of the quinta.
