The Franklin is located in Knightsbridge, within walking distance of Harrods and the Natural History Museum. Harrods is one of the most famous department stores in the world, known for its impressive food halls. The Natural History Museum is renowned for its striking building and famous dinosaur skeletons.
The Franklin was designed by Anouska Hempel, also known as Lady Weinberg. The designer drew inspiration from her travels and her own way of living. The rooms feature oriental influences with accents from Italy and Morocco. Dark fabrics, rich materials and classic furniture give the interiors a distinctive character. The atmosphere feels more like a London townhouse than a traditional hotel.
Our favourite room at The Franklin is the Junior Suite. It is slightly more spacious than the standard rooms, making it a good choice for a longer stay in the city.
The Franklin does not have a swimming pool. Its location close to Hyde Park more than makes up for it. In this large city park you will find the Serpentine Lake, a well-known lake where Londoners go for walks, rowing or simply relaxing by the water.
After a day in the city, you can unwind in the hotel’s hammam. There is also a small fitness room for those who like to stay active during their stay and the treatment room offers massages and treatments.
Children of all ages are welcome at the hotel. Guests under 18 years old may only stay when accompanied by an adult.
The menu features classic dishes with a Northern Italian touch, with duck and Northern Italian desserts among the specialties.
The restaurant and bar of the hotel have a casual dress code.
At The Franklin you can visit the hotel’s restaurant and bar. In the morning, the day begins with a well-prepared breakfast. Later on, the restaurant also serves lunch and dinner with dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine and a clear Northern Italian influence. Afterwards, the bar is a pleasant place to enjoy an aperitif or a drink.
