On Lake Constance, in southern Germany, lies the charming town of Lindau, whose old center sits on an island in the lake. The iconic lighthouse in the historic harbor overlooks narrow streets, colorful buildings and a promenade considered the most beautiful on the lake. From its many terraces, you can enjoy stunning views of the harbor, the water and the Alps. Just 2 km away, in a lush garden amidst vast apple orchards, is the cozy Hotel Villino. In 1992, the Fischer family took the initiative to transform a carpenter's workshop into an attractive boutique hotel that they still run today with passion, dedication and attention to detail.
Caractère clients receive complimentary water, homemade cookies and fruit in the room.
The hotel is open from February until the end of December.
21 rooms.
Check-in is from 3 p.m. Check-out before 12 p.m.
From €240.
The owners of the hotel have had a close connection with artist Manfred Scharpf for over 30 years. When Villino was being built in the early 1990s, the family often stayed with the artist. At that time, Scharpf began working on a series about the iris flower. He dissected the flower into its individual components and captured them in paintings. For Sonja and Reiner Fischer, the creation of his artworks symbolized the development of Villino, and they chose the iris as the emblem of their hotel.
The rooms are cozily decorated in a rustic style. They feature tiled floors, a safe, Wi-Fi, a fan, and views of the romantic garden. The bathrooms have a bathtub or shower (sometimes both), a hairdryer, slippers, and bathrobes. The junior suites and suites come with a balcony.
We recommend the junior suites and suites because they are spacious and offer a balcony.
There is no pool at the hotel, but the stunning 12,000 m² landscaped garden offers total peace and relaxation.
