Discover Swedish Lapland in an authentic way with Caractère! You will stay in an exclusive lodge in the middle of nature with no one else around you and your travel companion. This remote location, by the way, is ideal for spotting the northern lights. Your experience will be complete with the various activities offered. Options include a husky ride, ice fishing and a visit to a Sami village. All privately organized and very unique!
Day 1: Departure to Swedish Lapland
Your adventure starts in northern Sweden. You will be personally welcomed at the airport by the owners of the lodge you are staying in before travelling on to the homestead, where you will receive thick winter clothing so you can face the winter cold without worry. Afterwards, you will travel on to your private lodge in the middle of nature, by husky sled or otherwise. The lodge features its own sauna and hot tub. Quite the treat during winter temperatures.
Day 2: Husky safari
Opt for a very intimate dog sledding experience. As you sit on the sled, a professional musher will drive you across the frozen lakes and through the snowy forest. You will get to know the huskies and be able to enjoy beautiful scenery. Alternatively, you can take a self-drive tour with the huskies. You will meet the huskies, learn how to prepare them for the ride and get instructions on how to drive the sled. One person drives the sled and the other sits on the sled. Of course, you can switch positions along the way. The experienced musher directs the lead dog team. Get ready for a day full of adrenaline!
Day 3: Ice fishing and northern lights
Today you will go winter fishing on the lake surrounded by beautiful nature. Your winter clothes will keep you warm as you drill a hole through the ice and set a small lure to attract one of the local fish. 3 hours of fun accompanied by hot drinks and cake.
In the evening, you'll go searching for the northern lights. It's an incredible experience where you try to catch a glimpse of the northern lights during an evening snowshoe hike. You will be equipped with winter clothing, snowshoes and head lamps and have a clear view of the north. Even if the northern lights are elusive, this is an excellent hike with plenty of time for stargazing. The hike will be adapted to your own level.
Day 4: Snowmobile tour
A snowmobile tour is a fun way to explore the winter landscape. You will first learn to drive these powerful machines over forest trails and frozen lakes and then set off. While doing so, you will have the opportunity to see reindeer and other wildlife while your experienced guide shows you the way and tells stories about life in the frozen north. Along the way, you'll stop to enjoy a tasty lunch.
Day 5: Going home
A transfer takes you to the airport, after which you will return home.
