Day 1: explore the center on foot
After checking into your city hotel, set out to explore the old city center. Visit one of Gaudí's most popular houses: Casa Batlló. It is an impressive structure and both the outside and inside are worth seeing. After lunch, you will visit the nearby Casa Milá, better known as La Pedrera. You will immediately recognize the typical façade made of limestone. The beautiful view from the roof terrace is also worth seeing. In the afternoon, stroll around the busy and lively boulevard the Ramblas. Be sure to visit the popular La Boqueria market and taste the delicious fruit. Finish up on Barceloa's beach, La Barceloneta.
Day 2: Gothic Quarter and Park Güell
The Sagrada Familia is without doubt Gaudi's most famous masterpiece and a real must-see in Barcelona. Afterwards, continue walking to the Gothic Quarter, where you can visit the Sant Pau Recent Modernista Hospital. This is one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings and can be found on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After lunch, Park Güell is on the program. This work by Gaudí is slightly different from his other works because it is a large park with beautiful sights. You will also find in the park a house museum where the architect lived in the last 20 years of his life.
Day 3: Montjuïc
Time for another highlight: Montjuïc. At the top of this hill there are some must-visits. One of the gems not to be missed is Montjuïc Castle. Visit the castle and enjoy stunning views of the Barcelona skyline. Afterwards, take time to visit Poble Espanyol, a large open-air museum where you will find recreated buildings from different regions of the country. You can also find local artists, restaurants and stores. a lunch you can stop at the Joan Miró Foundation. The museum was founded by him to promote the works of young artists and you will also find many of his own creations. Another option is MNAC, the National Museum of Catalan Art. For dinner, stay near Muntjuïc and afterwards return to Montjuïc Castle. There you will find the Font Màgica, which comes alive at night with a fantastic sound and light show.
