Between Florence and Pisa, in the Chianti Montalbano region, lies the hilltop town of Cerreto Guidi, with its 16th-century Villa Medicea. The villa is best known for the mysterious murder of Isabella De' Medici, favorite daughter of Cosimo. A little further away is Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci, and the Museo Leonardiano, where you can admire the inventor's sketches, designs and machines. In this area, with vast vineyards and olive groves, lies Country House Colle Alberti. The 250-hectare wine estate is the largest in the municipality of Cerreto Guidi and home to the historic hunting domain of the de' Medici family.

The "vinsantaia", located in an attic, contains 30 oak barrels for maturing the Vin Santo del Chianti and the Vin Santo Occhio Di Pernice. Because the barrels are located in an attic, they are exposed to large temperature fluctuations that create the unique characteristics of the award-winning Vinsanto Di Colle Alberti.
Rooms are fresh and contemporary with natural materials, soft pastel shades, trendy furniture and parquet floors. All rooms have views of the countryside. The bathrooms have a rain shower and exclusive bath products.
We prefer the 'Superior Plus' rooms as they are spacious, they have a four-poster bed and they are on the ground floor with access to a patio. The 'Barn' is ideal for families. The separate building has two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a terrace with breathtaking views of the vineyards.
There is a panoramic outdoor swimming pool where you can rest on loungers between April and the end of October.
Visit the wine estate and enjoy a tasting afterwards (available on request, €25 per person, to be paid on site). From the hotel, you have access to an extensive network of cycling routes. The strade bianche, the typical Tuscan gravel roads, provide the perfect setting for cycling through breathtaking landscapes. E-bikes are available on request and at an additional charge. There are numerous excursion options nearby, including Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci, the greatest genius of the Renaissance.
Children are welcome, but there are no special facilities.

From April to October, the restaurant welcomes guests every day for a dinner full of flavour and simplicity. The chef cooks with what the region provides: fresh ingredients, traditional recipes and a genuine love for local produce.
You’ll enjoy a daily changing set menu with a starter, main course and dessert. Vegetarian options are always available, and allergies or special requests are gladly taken into account. The menu is priced at around €40 per person, including water, cover and service. Wine and other alcoholic drinks are charged separately.
