The Portuguese restaurant offers traditional, hearty and fair dishes for the whole family. The Carmo's Boutique hotel strongly sticks to decades-old recipes. The hotel likes to honour Portugal's (grand)mothers, the 'mães' and 'avós', and makes sure to preserve these recipes and pass them on to the next generation. Here you will enjoy organic and regional cuisine. All dishes are accompanied by a very large selection of Portuguese wines, some from the hotel's own estate. Wine lovers can take part in daily tastings and workshops in the special 'Wine Atelier'. You can have breakfast, lunch or dinner in the cosy dining room, by the pool or in the wine atelier.
The hotel is in a quiet and beautiful green area in the lovely Mino region of northern Portugal, 2 km from the banks of the Lima River. Ponte de Lima is at 5 km, Viana do Castelo at 34 km, Braga at 41 km, Vila Nova de Cerveira at 43 km, Porto at 84 km and Santiago de Compostela (Spain) at 154 km. You can easily reach the hotel via the highway. Ponte de Lima is one of the most alluring towns in the Alto Minho and lies in the demarcated region of the 'vinho verde'. It is an important centre for viticulture and still holds many traces of its distant past. During the weekend, the town of Ponte de Lima comes alive, thanks to its many cosy cafés and market stalls along the river, which, with its verdant banks, is perfect for a picnic or an evening stroll. The particularly beautiful and famous Romanesque bridge, after which this ancient and picturesque town was named, is never far away. The cosy historic centre of Ponte de Lima is definitely worth a visit. Let yourself be carried away by the rich architecture in Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Baroque and Neoclassical styles, such as the 15th-century Paço dos Marqueses. The area is peppered with 16th- to 18th-century country houses (solares) and estates (quintas), where the doors of the granite buildings with covered galleries are adorned with coats of arms.
