The historic borgo consists of several buildings and a small church. It has been renovated with great respect for the environment. The wall cooling in the rooms is particularly pleasant.
The comfortable rooms are located in the main building, il Castello, or in an annexe. Rooms in the annexe are well cared for and comfortable. The rooms in the main building are furnished with more luxury. Here, modern accessories and designer lamps are combined with beautiful fabrics and authentic elements. All rooms have a TV, telephone, ecological wall cooling, minibar, safe, Wi-Fi and parquet flooring. The bathrooms are mostly lit with natural light and usually have a large rain shower or a bath. They also include a toilet, bidet, hairdryer and slippers.
Type 'Superior Castello' in the main building is our favourite room.
The panoramic outdoor swimming pool is open from mid-May to late september. There is a bar and free sun loungers, parasols, showers and towels.
There is a small wellness centre including free sauna and hammam. Visit to the wineproduction with tasting of four wines and olive oil. Clients from Caractère get a reduction of 50% and pay only 15 euros per person for this activity. Meeting point is 4pm at the reception desk of the hotel. There is a hiking trail of about 4 kilometres starting from the hotel. Many other excursion are possible as well.
Children are welcome from the age of 14.
Make sure to try the famous 'Bisteccha alla Fiorentina', a steak from the region's Chianina cattle.

The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays to make room for pizza night. An à la carte menu is available. The hotel produces its own organic wines and olive oil. In good weather, meals can be taken on the pleasant garden terrace.
The hotel is set in a very quiet and panoramic location in a beautiful garden with box trees, roses, olive trees and breathtaking views of the Chianti hills. It is strategically located between Florence at around 40 km and Siena at 25 km. The small centre of Castellina is 2 km away.
