Originally only offering activities, the organisation decided to set up this unique project due to its great success and especially the demand for accommodation. You can take this almost literally when you look at the accommodations in this unique setting.
There is a main building on the lake with four rooms and four mini houses with two to three rooms. Each building is named after a river near Voss and each room is named after a spectacular waterfall found along these rivers. All rooms have a double bed, some of which have extra beds on a mezzanine floor.
A room in the main building is our preference as these are slightly more spacious and offer a frontal view of the lake.
The hotel does have three Jacuzzis where you overlook the lake. You can swim in the lake all year round.
You can use the sauna on request. The hotel focuses strongly on outdoor activities such as rafting, kayaking, rappelling, canyoning and climbing. Voss Active is the organisation behind Elva Hotel that offers all activities from mid-May to mid-October in a very professional way.
Families with children of any age are welcome. For toddlers, it is not possible to participate in all activities offered due to a minimum age imposed by the hotel.
A table by the window in Elva restaurant certainly adds value because of the view of the surroundings.
A casual outfit will suffice here.
Although you might not immediately expect it here, the hotel has an excellent fine dining restaurant overlooking the lake. Due to its popularity, it is advisable to book in time at Elva Restaurant. A three-course menu is available from Sunday to Friday, while an extensive seven-course menu is available on Saturdays. At Elvatun Café & Bar, enjoy breakfast, lunch and a delicious cup of coffee daily.
Elva Hotel is located in Skulestadmo among the breathtaking fjords and 4 kilometres from Vossevangen, where you will find a number of nice and typically Norwegian restaurants. The city of Bergen is 100 kilometres from the hotel.
