The hotel sits on a remarkable site: in the 17th century, a basin was built here to breed fish for the Neapolitan nobility. The name La Peschiera — literally “the fishpond” — still recalls that history. When the site was later transformed into a hotel, part of the original structure was preserved. Even today, you can still see traces of the old basins, now transformed into shimmering pools overlooking the sea.
