This small 'borgo', with a fortified tower and an authentic chapel, was successively owned by the Siena episcopate and the Sozzini dynasty, which lived there for 5 centuries and accommodated artists, writers and famous personages. Restored with great care and great taste, the hamlet opened its doors in 2005 as an elegant hotel. Certain scenes from the film 'Letters to Juliet' starring Vanessa Redgrave and Amanda Seyfried were shot in Borgo Scopeto.
