Set amid 70 hectares of olive trees that have shaped the landscape for generations, Relais Histò lies in one of the most authentic regions of Puglia. The historic masseria, once known as San Pietro di Mutata, was built in 1392 and stands on the ancient lands of Taras. Centuries ago, this estate served as a Roman villa and later as a monastery. You can still feel that history as you walk through the limestone corridors or cross a quiet courtyard where the calm is almost tangible.

The 11th-century basilica on the estate rests on impressive columns and still preserves frescoes and remnants of a Roman aqueduct. Relais Histò is located just 12 kilometres from Taranto and is an ideal base for exploring more of Puglia. Ostuni lies 52 kilometres away, Matera 96 kilometres and Lecce 100 kilometres.
Travellers can choose between Brindisi Airport, 68 kilometres away, or Bari Airport at 110 kilometres.
Transfers are available on request, although renting a car is highly recommended to explore the area at your own pace.
