Monterado emerged in the 13th century as a fortified village on a strategic hilltop, with a castle at its centre. Nowadays, that Castello di Monterado is a charming small-scale hotel. The welcoming owners Orlando and Kira provide comfortable rooms and four suites, many of which are painted with frescoes from the 19th century. You will experience classic beauty with stunning views of the hills, the Cesano Valley and the sea.

All of the comfortable rooms have a view of the landscape. In the modern bathroom you will find a spacious rain shower or a bath, bathrobes and slippers.
The rooms are all different and individually decorated with a hint of local craftsmanship. The very spacious suites with their ceiling frescoes, terrazzo floors and antique furniture are particularly special. In the 'Suite del Principe', you will feel like a prince for a while.
The outdoor pool is open according to the weather conditions. There is the 'honesty' bar at the pool in July and August. Free sun beds, towels and parasols are available.
You can play billiards for free. You can also rent bikes on request and with a supplement. You can go horseback riding 500 metres away and play tennis at 2 kilometres. There is a weekly wine and local products tasting, in which you can participate with a minimum of six people and with an additional fee. There are also cooking classes for a minimum of four people, on request and with a supplement.

There is a good breakfast buffet, which you can enjoy in a lounge decorated with frescos or on the panoramic terrace in good weather. From June to September, you can enjoy a light lunch by the pool at lunchtime and an à la carte fixed menu of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes in the evening. At a distance of 50 metres from the hotel lies 'La Tavernetta sull'Aia', which serves authentic cuisine based on fresh, local produce. There are numerous top restaurants within a 15 kilometre radius.
The hotel has uiet and panoramic location in the small village of Monterado and offers beautiful views of the hills, the Cesano valley and the sea, which is barely 10 km away. The cosy village of Corinaldo is at 7 km, the seaside town of Senigallia at 14 km, the coastal town of Fano at 30 km and the impressive caves of Frasassi at 50 km. The lovely city of Urbino, the beautiful Riviera del Conero, with its spectacular white cliffs, and Ancona are at 65 km.
