When Flemish Christiane Van Gaubergen fell in love with southern Italian Dino Monteneve half a century ago in Brussels, she soon knew she would follow her great love to his warm and hospitable native Puglia. They married, started a family together and bought a dilapidated farmhouse there. Thanks to her elegance and creativity and his work ethic and skill, they transformed the 'masseria', together with their son Giuliano, into a very cozy hotel where past and present meet.
All rooms are decorated differently, with authentic and rustic accessories, durable materials and most with original wrought iron beds and wood-beamed ceilings. All have direct access to a terrace, balcony or garden. They have TV, air conditioning, a safe and wifi. The bathrooms have a shower, a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers.
The slightly larger deluxe rustic rooms with terrace. For families, there is a family suite with two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Relax by the outdoor swimming pool equipped with sun loungers, parasols and showers. Or have a drink at the bar. The pool is open from early May to late October.
Relax in the hammocks in the garden. Keep fit in the free outdoor gym or rent a mountain bike and head out. For total relaxtation, head to the "Herbarium" and opt for a delightful massage, a scrub or have a dip in the hot bath at 36°C with oils based on their own herbs. Children will certainly not grow bored by the playground. Discover the vicinity by visting the many charming villages.
A quality breakfast buffet is served in the former horse stables, including homemade jam, cake and with fruit and eggs from their own organic farm. In the restaurant, located in the old carpenter's workshop, for both lunch and dinner, you will enjoy local dishes with fresh products and vegetables from the own vegetable garden. In good weather, meals are taken outside. Own production of wine and olive oil. Masseria Montenapoleone enjoys a very quiet location, in a garden with olive trees, flowers and cacti. The town of Fasano and the coast are at 7 km, charming Cisternino at 11 km, the white town of Ostuni at 18 km, Martina Franca at 23 km and tourist Alberobello with its many 'trulli' at 30 km. The baroque city of Lecce is at 90 km.
Brindisi airport is 52 km away and Bari airport is 67 km away.
